HSBC - Currently the Indian crude basket is above USD 110/barrel and if these levels sustain or
move higher from here, the impact on the trade deficit will be significant. Our estimates
show that the current rise in crude basket (since Feb 08) has a potential to add USD 2
billion to our monthly trade deficit at current prevailing oil prices of USD 125 /barrel.
