Kuwait's Oil Minister Mohammad al-Olaim said on Tuesday that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries was prepared to pump more oil if the market needs it.

"OPEC is prepared to increase supplies only if the market needs it," Olaim said in statements reported by the official KUNA news agency.

Olaim, who was appointed last week, said high oil prices were not related to fundamentals of supply and demand.

Crude Oil Speculation

Why has crude shot up? Any answers? I dont have any,,, apart from speculation, there is nothing much which has potential to keep it there. Do you think the number of cars or other vehichles has quadrappled that makes crude justified at 130? Or have the oil suddenly dried out?

WHERE IS THE LOSS??

petrol prices in USA has touched $ 4 a gallon or Rs 44/- per litres .. Note that In USA petrol prices are fixed daily and pegged with international crude prices . So in USA the petrol is sold @ 44 /- per litre which is lower than INDIA where it is sold @50+ level... SO still Indian govt is making profit of 10 RS per litre .. the tax component is more than 60% .. so in one hand they are taxing petrol and on other hand they are subsidising it . SO no need to flow tear for the GOVT as they still making profit on petro products
