Q&A: Is it at all possible to have windows use a straight through cable as a crossover cable?

Buy cable crossovers in our shop.

Question by Tony O: Is it at all possible to have windows use a straight through cable as a crossover cable? I need a crossover cable to connect my xbox to my laptop. All I have, though, is a straight-through cable. Can I configure my network connection to somehow auto-crossover so I can avoid purchasing a new cable? I am using windows vista, but directions for orlder versions are okay; I just need pointed in the right direction. Best answer:
