NEW$-China's import of base metals in August were mostly
down on the level recorded in July but above the level
of a year earlier. In large part, the decline in base metal
imports in August reflects the very strong level of imports
in earlier months, which may have contributed to stock
builds for a number of the metals. China's refined copper
imports fell by almost 25% in the month of August from
July. China's primary aluminium imports in August were
down by 11% from July. WEAK FOR COPPER AND CRUDEOIL
